About Marshall
This page is supposed to serve to help you to get to know me more.
Naturally since I have control over what gets said on this page I’m going to ensure that I frame myself in the best possible light.
This means you wont hear me talk about any of my annoying habits, mental deficiencies, or any other issue that’ll make me look anything less than the second coming of a hybrid of James Dean and Elvis.
Real quickly though, my full name is Marshall Wayne Donnerbauer.
(If you’d like to see the Marshall Donnerbauer that is still my main name in the International Currency world, you may Click Here.)
I go by Marshall Wayne now in the business community due to the fact that over the years with my business I’ve come to realize nobody can spell or pronounce Donnerbauer. (By the way, it’s pronounced Donn-er-bow-er)
Also back in my college days I had the good fortune of being one of the very first Power Sellers on eBay.
At the time almost every order came by personal check. I had to sign all of them personally. It helped shortening the name up a bit when I’d take 500 checks to the bank. (This was before I realized I could buy a stamp that said “For Deposit Only”)
Anyway, Marshall Wayne is what we’ll go by for business purposes and when Steven Spielberg calls me to do a movie for him…I’m waiting patiently Steven. When you said, “Don’t call us, we’ll call you” I assumed you just wanted to save me money on my phone bill.
Plus with my fascination of covert agencies and spy movies it seems fitting to have an “alias”, even if that “alias” is actually a shortened version of my real name.
Okay, on to business…
I’m an international currency dealer and have become one of the largest dealers of Iraqi Dinar in the world (Not just in my mind either. In actual reality).
I’ve had the good fortune of branding myself as a young expert in this area which has attracted the attention of major news outlets.
I had first gotten the attention of the Baltimore Sun Times and from there The USA Today put me in the featured article on the front page of their Money Section. (You can see that article by clicking here.)
Then Wired Magazine called. (You can see that article by clicking here.)
After that CNN called.
The reporters name was Lauren I remember. I was actually in the woods playing paintball when she called. I had bought all of my cousins paintball equipment so we could play. She got a kick out of the fact that I was talking to her in the middle of getting shot with paintballs. My cousins thought it was pretty unusual as well but they didn’t cut me any slack.
Getting national attention really boosts not only your sales but your long term credibility.
That led to a massive increase in my business.
I was only 26 at the time and operating the business completely by myself.
I’ve had the good fortune of feeling what it’s like to be a young entrepreneur and bringing in over $300,000 in a month in sales and keeping $50,000 a month as profit.
I’ve had the good fortune of knowing what it’s like to bring in $40,000 in a day and profiting $8000 of that money in one day.
I also know what it’s like to do $20,000 cash business deals with government workers in the coffee shops of McLean VA where unusual business and political deals are done all day long in regular coffee and sandwich shops. I wrote an article about it called, How To Be Jason Bourne.
(Since I’m an entrepreneur I’m very comfortable talking about money. If you’re an entrepreneur you should be too. It’s no different than when people asked me what I ran in the mile back in my running days except now the score and the records are kept with money. Get comfortable with that.)
In fact on my Iraqi Dinar site at http://InvestInDinar.com I put one of my bank statements on there for people who are inquiring about becoming dealers and want assurances that it’s a lucrative business. You can see that by clicking here if you like.
I’ve had the good fortune of being able to fly first dates on a whim to South Beach Miami just because I could. (I also know what it’s like to sit in the Delano hotel and chit chat with a porn producer until 6 in the morning because he was fascinated by the story of my business and how I was able to put it together…naturally I had some questions of my own about his business but those would have to go on an X-rated site.)
Now I’m taking the strategies I learned to brand myself in a creative way and using them to build up this persona of “The Movie Star Entrepreneur”.
I’ve always been an entrepreneurial thinker and I LOVE movies. With these two loves along with my experience of creatively branding myself in the world of international currency (I make it sound like a James Bond novel although it isn’t quite (by quite I mean not even close) as cool…in my mind it is, although that’s not always the same as reality) has led me to create this site.
I want to perfect the art of using movie star branding tactics to brand online entrepreneurs in order for them to become the “celebrity” in their market.
We have such a great opportunity to brand ourselves as the “celebrities” in our own markets. With Youtube, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Word Press, and many other social networking sites, the opportunities are endless to brand ourselves just as the movie stars do.
If you want to be the foremost expert on old school Super Mario Brothers you can do that.
If you want to be the most famous commentator on cereals, you can do that.
You have the opportunity to brand yourself however you want, in any area you want.
Don’t you suppose I conjured up the name, “Movie Star Entrepreneur” because it sounds cool and makes people wonder what it’s all about?
Of course.
It’s all about the branding. (Plus at speeches they’ll be forced to say, “Next up is Marshall Wayne. Better known as The Movie Star Entrepreneur. He is undoubtedly the most handsome and charismatic speaker the world has ever known.”)
…or something like that better be said after I slip the announcer my entire months earnings.
Can you become Oprah or Brad Pitt? It’s certainly not likely. There is only one Oprah and one Brad Pitt. You need to be the first and best version of yourself. That may end up putting you in the category of an Oprah or a Brad Pitt someday. Who knows, but first you have to learn to be the best version of yourself.
The better we can personally brand ourselves and get more people to like us and follow us, the more products we’ll sell and the bigger our businesses will grow.
That’s the business side of myself.
My first real taste of success came in the running world.
In high school in the small northern Wisconsin town of Chetek I was a 2 time state champion track runner. I won the Mile (1600m – 4:19) and 2 Mile (3200m – 9:33) at the 1995 Wisconsin State Track & Field Championships.
In my running career I had the good fortune of being coached by a World Record Holder, and 2 Olympians.
They taught me a great deal about achieving goals, creating a burning desire for achievement, having a single minded focus on a goal, keeping people around me who would positively influence my path in life (thereby keeping a positive, successful aura around me), and many other positive aspects that have made me who I am today.
If any of you would like to see the grainy video of me winning the 1995 Wisconsin State Track & Field Championship in the Mile you can watch the video here:
: Fun Facts :
I thought myself how to memorize a full deck of 52 playing cards. Also no I have not used this for Black Jack.
I’ve read The Bible 3 Times for intellectual and not religious purposes. The 3rd time I recorded it onto my computer to be burned onto CD. It’s sometimes odd to hear it in my own voice.
If you’d like to get in touch, you may get ahold of me on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or Linked In.
