To NOT Get SUED By the FTC…

I’m writing this to let any of you know that you may click on a link that I recommend at some point and I may get paid for it.

In fact it would be my wish that I’d get paid for every link that’s clicked, but that doesn’t happen.  Just know that this blog will be used to make money for me, pay my bills, occasionally buy me luxury items, and allow me to travel to exotic locales.  (At least, that’s the plan.)

The FTC has made it law now to disclose that we as bloggers may get paid to recommend things.

In our world this is obvious but it’s meant to get rid of many of the ads online that send people to fake blogs with fake comments in order to have you buy a product.

It’s not so much for us, but to cover my butt, this is a good blog post to write.

In the future I hope to get paid for more and more of the activities and ideas I put up on this blog and I hope to help some of you do the same thing with your blogs.

Okay, that should be enough.

Looks like i’m going to have to write one like this for my self. I think I’m going to link it from my footer

Yeah I saw Jason Moffatt post one. It seemed like a good idea to also post one.

Plus it’s kind of humorous to post one for us since it’s pretty much readily assumed that we are going to recommend products we enjoy and we’ll want to get paid for them through affiliate links.

Is this a new law that just passed? Is it something that got sandwiched in between something else and signed into law, or was I just not paying close enough attention?

Hi Anthony, it just got passed a couple months ago. It’s been talked about in our internet marketing community but not at all in the mainstream media.
