Why Setting Up Facebook Events Is Crucial To Making Money Using Facebook

Setting up Facebook events to invite people to an online webinar is the best way that I know of to turn your Facebook friends into buyers of your product or service.
Here is the process.
1. Setup An Event – I’ll cover that process in the following video.
Here is the code that you’ll want to enter into the URL bar in order to select all your friends at once without having to individually select them all:
javascript:elms=document.getElementById(‘friends’).getElementsByTagName(‘li’);for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === ‘object’){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}
2. Send A Message To The People You Are Inviting And Instruct Them To Register For The Webinar On Your Lead Capture Page.
For instance, an example lead capture page would be: http://investindinar.com/report/
3. For the webinar, I recommend http://gotomeeting.com or http://usteam.com.
GoToMeeting.com will cost $100 per month but there is a free 30 day trial. It does everything for you though.
It sets up your webinar registration page so you’ll be able to follow up with your prospects any time you want.
Ustream.com is free but it isn’t as high quality as GoToMeeting.com and wont setup your lead capture pages for you.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know when you setup an event. I’d really like to see it, see how well it goes, and what your experience was like.

Marshall great video my friend..love tips and part about the code. I did not know that before thanks.
Do you setup a do not invite list in facebook? and un-select those friends that are not interested in your material. I am concerned with spamming everyone on my list Thanks Marshall
Thanks Kyle. One thing you could do is just use this code to set up a list one time called, “Invite List” so that way you'll never need the code again and you'll know that all the people on that invite list are safe to invite.
You'll just have to manually unselect the people you do not want to have invites sent to, but it'll only need to be done once.
Is this limited to a specific browser? For some reason its not working in chrome or firefox?
Marshall I setup a friend list “Invite List” as you suggested but when I put the code in my address bar nothing happens?
That's right. I forgot that Firefox does not work with this code. I hadn't tested it on Chrome. I'm using Flock and Safari. I'm not sure about Internet Explorer either.
I downloaded safari logged in to fb, tried it and still same problem.
Is that a mac thing bro? lol
Marshall I got it work..thanks boss. Flock is great thanks for tip.
BTW Look out for an invite from my group..you know that you could teach this and not get invites right?
http://www.facebook.com/#/group.php?gid=1106404... Thanks again
Good deal. Also yeah I know I could do a webinar on it but it's pretty simple so a blog post was enough.
Its odd that it works on flock and not FF, since Flock is a version of FF. And since it is a JS code, it should work anywhere.

This is being added to my bookmarks now. I foresee it being useful
That's what I was thinking. I hadn't tried Firefox again since the first time which was probably six months ago. I just tried it with Firefox again after your post and it works fine. On the Mac anyway.
Very useful idea Marshall… sorry I wasn't able to make it this past week – but I look forward to getting to know you more at future events. I'm going to make sure my http://smcpros.com team knows how to use this code.
No worries Tyler. I heard you had a big speech to give. We'll have plenty of time to chat and connect in the future. It was nice getting to know new people. I haven't attended a social media event yet so I'm really liking it.
Great post Marshall. I have been planning on doing a tele-workshop, but did not know the logistics of using FB to promote it. After watching your video, I feel very prepared to do so. Thanks for sharing!
Great post, Marshall. I've been planning on doing a tele-workshop, but did not know the logistics of using FB to promote it. After watching your informative video, I feel very prepared to do so. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jay. Setting up events on Facebook is such a handy way to get people to our webinars. I hope more and more people start using it.
For some reason this did not work for me? would it be because theres a new FB format? I did everything got to the invite page..then entered that URL at the top and hit enter…And nothing happened? Any suggestions?
I think they changed up the code just slightly with the new update. Try this:
javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends').getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}
I just tried that code and it worked for me.
Hey Marshall! This is a pretty impressive website! I'm so glad I found it! I'll be returning often. I just bought a kodak zi8 digital camera for doing video, so I'll be entering into this as soon as it arrives! Looking forward to learning from you!
That is fantastic Judy! You're going to love the Zi8! I can't wait to see some of your initial test videos!
Thanks Marshall! I'm sure they'll be “entertaining”!
good word! oh, and thanks for the link.
Marshall good post, two questions 1) is there a way to invite fans from a fan page? 2) any recommendations on how to charge for events? I have used eventsbrite.com in the past but want to make the registration process as seamless as possible.
You can setup an event on your fan page and then invite all your friends and send it out to all your fans. Also to charge for an event you can setup a sales page that charges through Paypal or your merchant account and then send them to the event page that was set to private.
You bet Addison!
